Visionaries of the Year Atlantic

Team Ghosn

A Visionary: someone with the confidence to amplify their voice to speak for those unheard.

Each candidate for Visionaries of the Year is an innovator in their field; I am honoured to be part of this team of driven individuals as we strive to support the blood cancer community. Join me in supporting The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada (LLSC) by donating to my fundraising team and campaign for Visionary of the Year.

Starting in March, our team will embark on an intense 10-week fundraising competition between philanthropic leaders in communities across Canada. Funds raised help propel critical research, provide services, and advance advocacy efforts for people with blood cancer and their families.

For me, this society and the fundraising efforts are extremely close to my heart. My journey with Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma in 2013 marked the beginning of a profound mission and has guided me to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada (LLSC). The LLSC’s Light the Night Walks became not just a beacon of hope but a symbol of resilience and community. Over the last 11 years I have had the pleasure of being an “Honoured Hero” and have worked closely with the team - which is how I was made aware of the Visionaries of the Year. I was nominated to participate in this fundraiser by Vanessa and Trudy, two members of the Light the Night Team who have been huge supporters and rocks for me during my fundraising efforts -this makes this fundraiser even more meaningful to me.

The passion that I have experienced while fundraising combined with my health background has led me to the field of occupational therapy where I have been lucky enough to advocate and support individuals with what they want and need to do. I see this fundraiser as a way to extend my role as a student OT and to create a platform where we can can harness the power of community and compassion to ensure that every individual facing blood cancer feels supported, empowered, and equipped to navigate their unique challenges.

Each dollar raised from March to May equals one vote for our team. The candidate who, alongside their team, raises the most funds will win the prestigious title of “Visionary of the Year”. Last year’s winners raised more than $100,000 each!

Aside from donating, you can help in other ways like spreading the word! Share my candidate page link with friends, family and colleagues who would also like to help end blood cancers and support the blood cancer community. Donating is fast, easy, and yes, tax deductible.

Thank you for supporting the blood cancer community during Visionaries of the Year!
