On January 4th, 2024 I will be participating in the Walt Disney World Marathon as a fundraiser and teammate for The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Team In Training Program.
I began running in 2011, thanks to the support of friends and co-workers, and have completed numerous half-marathons and marathons. Many of you may not know that I have had 2 family members on my mother’s side of the family that have been affect by Leukemia and Lymphoma. My cousin Susan was diagnosed with Leukemia at the age of 4 and passed away before she was 8; my cousin Veronica was diagnosed with Leukemia at the age of 20 after the birth of her daughter and although undergoing a bone marrow transfer from her brother passed away at the age of 25.
I’m reaching out to you because even in the face of economic volatility, my passion for the LLSC mission has never been stronger, and neither has the need to help patients who are fighting for their lives every day.
My ask to you has also not changed: please give what you can. Whatever that means for you, please give to your ability to bring hope to cancer patients everywhere and ensure we can still see a day without cancer.
My goal is to raise $20,000, and I can’t do it without you
