We are walking and fundraising in memory of my dad, Michael Creighan.
Throughout his battle with Hodgkins Lymphoma and post-cancer treatments such as a bone marrow and stem cell transplant, my dad and our family got involved with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in 2014 as my dad and our family have felt the devastating affects of blood cancer and how important patient programs and research are.
Light The Night brings communities across Canada together for one magical evening to share stories, remember loved ones lost and pay tribute to our heroes, bringing light, love and hope to dispel the darkness of blood cancers.
As said by my dad in 2020: "I got involved in this to help people who are in similar situations as what I have gone through. We really did not know if I would be able to do the walk the first year when it came up because I just finished chemo and had my pet scan 30 days later. [...] I know that the funds support such good things for patients. I have witnessed it firsthand."
