My name is Grace McCrea, and I’m from Halifax, Nova Scotia
I was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma in June of 2020. Two years ago, I was diagnosed with a rare congenital defect in my heart, and My doctors told me I would need to have open-heart surgery to correct it. In May of 2020, in the middle of a global pandemic, I went in for my open-heart surgery; terrified for my life; little did I know that would only be the start of a 7-month long journey.
While in surgery, my doctors found that I had Hodgkin’s lymphoma. A form of Blood Cancer, however today i am so lucky and proud to be in remission, because of all the research and fundraising towards blood cancers.
Light The Night brings communities across Canada together for one magical evening to share stories, remember loved ones lost and pay tribute to our heroes, bringing light, love and hope to dispel the darkness of blood cancers.
