As many of you are aware our family was touched by cancer in 2018 when our daughter Sophie was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. In addition to the doctors, nurses and medical support staff who treated Sophie, our family will be eternally grateful for those who have previously researched and advocated for treatments for pediatric patients. Through our journey we knew so many families whose stories did not look like ours and that is why we support and advocate with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society to push to improve outcomes for pediatric cancer patients.
Over the years our family has learned a lot about the pediatric cancer ecosystem. There are many challenges that children with cancer face when it comes to research and development of new treatments and even access to those treatments if they exist.
This is why it is so important to support organizations which help to address the challenges pediatric cancer’s face. The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society supports research grants which are pediatric specific and promotes and runs pediatric focused clinical trials through their “Dare to Dream” project.
We thank our community from the bottom of our hearts for their support of us and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. You have continued to show up, support us and the LLSC we continue to be eternally grateful.
