We couldn’t be more grateful for the support from you, our donors. Over the last 4 years, you have made a huge impact on the blood cancer community, with the creation of a $1 million pediatric research grant in 2022. That’s 25% of the LLSC’s research budget! More than any other charity in Canada.
#Rachelstrong has a goal for 2022 to reach $500,000 in our 5th year of fundraising and I know we can count on you to help us get there. We are stronger together.
Thank you for continued support!
Our long story, short…
Rachel was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) in November 2017 at the age of 7.
After relapsing, our family wanted to do more to help the blood cancer community, fund research and raise awareness around pediatric AML. It was important to us that Rachel connected with the charity and felt part of a community, knowing that she wasn’t alone. That’s when we decided to register a team, #RachelStrong, for Light the Night Vancouver and support the LLSC. The light is such a powerful symbol when you are going through such a dark time.
Transplant Day came in October 2018, and her sister Hayley was able to donate the gift of life to her big sister. Today, Rachel has been in remission for almost 3 years and we are so grateful. She is now 11 years old and in long term follow up. We wouldn’t be in this place of recovery if it wasn’t for our friends, family and the LLSC.
