In August of 2023 I lost Abigail, my Granddaughter, In January of 2021 I lost my Mom, in September of 2014 I lost my Dad...cancer has been hard on us. Every year communities across Canada together for one magical evening to share stories, remember loved ones lost and pay tribute to our heroes, bringing light, love and hope to dispel the darkness of blood cancers.
I am taking the first step and showing my support.
Bright Lights Challenge
I am writing to request your help. I have accepted the Bright Lights Challenge for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada (LLSC) - Light The Night Halifax.
LLSC is leading the way for cancer research and services to cancer patients. Blood cancer affects all ages and specifically, is the number one cancer diagnosed in children. My hope is that no parents or grandparents have to experience a cancer diagnosis for their child.
I am asking for your help as I embark on a 6-week fundraising competition. The leader who raises the most funds for LLSC, wins the challenge and is featured. We all win together when cancer loses.
My personal goal is to raise $10,000. Funds raised will go directly to LLSC in support of its mission to find cures for blood cancers and improve the quality of life for patients and their families.
I set a lofty goal to do my part as a Bright Lights Challenger in Halifax, and hitting this target would not be possible without your support and generosity. Help me bring light to the darkness of cancer.
