My mom was smart, honest, kind, and hardworking, but above all, she was the most caring person I've ever known. She provided us all with so much love, in so many ways, and she took a great deal of pride in doing so. Before her passing, she talked about how blessed she was. Watching her children grow up and establish themselves. Having grandchildren, and spending quality time with them. Having her parents around to care for her, and to care for them in return. She had the opportunity to travel, and see so much of the world with my Dad. To have had such a special, fulfilling relationship with him for so many years meant everything to her. These are all things that few people can say they experienced in their lifetime.
I wish that we had more time together, but I also appreciate how many beautiful memories I have of her. I think of how she constantly provided me with support, patience, understanding, and guidance. Somehow, she was able to find a beautiful balance between walking me through the valleys of life, while also giving me the space to grow when I needed to.
While I will certainly feel her loss for the rest of my days, her love will always be with me to offer comfort.
