A few months ago one of the loveliest and kindest people I know, my step-mother Sandy (Sandra) Fildes, got a devastating diagnosis of Acute Myeloid Leukemia. A good friend of ours from book club, Susan Guilbault, faced and amazingly won this same battle a few years ago.
Light The Night is a special evening where communities across Canada come together to honour those we've lost, celebrate survivors, and show support for everyone affected by blood cancers. It?s a time filled with remembrance, love, and hope?a reminder that no one goes through this alone.
We have created a team in their honour called the S&S Squad. Please help support us by joining our team and walking with us and/or donating financially so that the research can continue to move forward to find a cure for blood cancers, which are the fifth most common cancer in Canada, impacting over 155,000 Canadians, including our family members, friends, neighbors, and colleagues.
