Hi there, I'm glad you're here!
For those who know me well, you know that I have been fundraising in some way for various causes over the course of the past two decades while working and volunteering in the health nonprofit sector. To all those who have supported my fundraising over the years, thank you!
I'm calling on you today for a cause that's become more and more important to me. In the last few years, I've focused my attention on the blood cancer community for a couple of reasons. As an employee at the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada, I have learned that many treatment advances for cancer over the decades were made as a result of blood cancer research. Chemotherapy, for example, was first established to treat leukemia and it is now used to treat many other types of cancers. It's a similar story for targeted therapies and immunotherapies such as the latest innovation in CAR T-cell therapy.
Some of you may also know that at around this time last year, my family learned that a close relative was unwell. It turned out to be a rare blood cancer diagnosis. Now a year later, she is doing better but continues to receive treatment. While she isn't cured, I am thankful. There are treatment options available to her - options that may not have been possible had it not been for the countless people, like you, who made donations toward blood cancer research over the past years and decades.
I am reaching out to you to let you know that your donation today means more than you think. It could save a life tomorrow of someone you know with any type of cancer.
I've kick-started my fundraising with a $100 donation.
Can I count on you to make a donation too?
Sincerest thanks,
Angeline
