Blood cancers can strike anyone, at any age, any time, without warning and have life changing consequences overnight impacting children, families, friends, and communities. In fact, did you know that in Canada, every 24 minutes, somebody is diagnosed with a blood cancer?
There are 137 different types of blood cancer. Our goal at the The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada (LLSC) is to fund life-saving research and programs so that we can find a cure for blood cancer. Every year, we host our annual Light the Night Event to honour, remember, and celebrate the blood cancer community and raise money for the research and programs that improve the life for people affected by blood cancers. This year, our event will take place on Saturday, October 22nd, 2022.
For those of you who don't know, I have worked with the LLSC for over a year as a Community Services Lead. As a member of the LLSC team, I have heard about the impact that blood cancer has on people's families and lives. I am therefore fundraising to raise awareness, funds, and support for those in our communities who are impacted by blood cancer.
For every $200 raised, I will run/walk 5k! Please donate to help me achieve my goal.
As a reminder, if you or somebody you has been diagnosed with a blood cancer and would like support, send me a message through any platform and i'll be there to help every step of the way.
