Light The Night brings communities across Canada together for one magical evening to share stories, remember loved ones lost and pay tribute to our heroes, bringing light, love and hope to dispel the darkness of blood cancers.
I am participating in this challenge in honour of my friend Jim Abernethy who died of Peripheral T-cell Lymphoma only 3 months after diagnosis and is sorely missed by his family, friends and colleagues. Jim was one of the best people I have known - embracing life to the fullest, active at work and at play, always with a twinkle in his eye and a story to tell. Jim loved being active - cycling, playing hockey, hiking - and this challenge which is inspiring so many to be be active this month is a great way to celebrate his memory. This is for you Jim!
