This year I am thrilled to have been named co-chair for Light The Night Toronto. This is an honour and incredibly meaningful to me as this year will mark my 10th year in remission from leukemia.
My family and I have set an ambitious goal for Team Lia of raising $100,000 for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada. In addition, we hope to have a $200,000 impact through matching donation opportunities.
Pediatric cancer care offers one of the most striking examples of progress in modern medicine. Fifty years ago, my cancer diagnosis was considered fatal, today survival approaches 90%!
The LLSC is reimaging blood cancer care for patients and their families thanks to funds raised through Light The Night. This year, they launched their first pediatric blood cancer research grant competition designed to fund research projects that address unmet needs in the treatment and care of pediatric blood cancer patients.
We believe that 100% survivial is within reach and possible in my lifetime.
Join us in our pursuit of this goal by making a secure donation, joining our team or let us know if you'd like to learn more about supporting the matching gift opportunity through a more sizeable gift.
Thank you for your support!
