We all have our "why" we fundraise towards cancer research and better treatment options. For me personally, I joined this amazing team because the leader is my dear friend, Roxanne. I watched her support her sister through treatment and then grieve her loss when her sister lost her battle. This was after I lost my father to his own brutal fight with cancer a couple of years prior. When you support a family member through cancer treatments, you feel helpless and share their total loss of control. Fundraising is a tool that allow us to regain control over a disease that strips you and those you love, of all control, to do something to help other families win the fights that defeated us. We all know someone who is battling today, in treatment, or who has lost their fight. Someone who is living with the fear that their cancer will return. That is why I am committed to raising money and awareness for blood cancer research, in hope of better life saving treatments.
