As many of you may know, my mom passed away two years ago from Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML), an aggressive form of blood cancer.
I felt helpless as my mom fought the cancer. She demonstrated strength and bravery as she faced countless hospital visits, blood transfusions, chemotherapy, and stem cell transplants. I observed the pain she endured and the toll it took on the family. My mom’s 2-Year battle with cancer ended on Sept 27, 2020 and she is now resting in peace.
In honor of her memory, I am supporting the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada (LLSC) by collecting donations for the Light the Night 2022 event. Our team is called The “A” team for remembering Amy.
Last year, with your generous support we exceeded our goal and raised over $16,000. This year, our team set a higher goal to raise at least $20,000. The fight continues and with your financial support we can help find the cure for Leukemia.
Light The Night brings communities across Canada together for one magical evening to share stories, remember loved ones lost and pay tribute to our heroes, bringing light, love and hope to dispel the darkness of blood cancers.
