Every fall, I fundraise for Light The Night in support of cancer research.
And each year, my dedication to the cause evolves -- as more and more people in my life have been affected by the horrible disease.
It started for my nana who passed away from lymphoma when I was just a girl... then for cousin Lindsey who endured hellish treatments and a bone marrow transplant and is now a Chronic Leukemia survivor ... for Uncle Denis and all of the lymphoma treatments and isolation he had to endure... and most recently for Maddie, my good friend's daughter, who is 12 years old going on 30 having had to grow up too fast because she had to endure years of pain, isolation, chemotherapy after being diagnosed with an Acute Leukemia at only 8 years old...
This year, we are gathering to Light The Night virtually, to keep our community safe, but I will still be fundraising for this important cause, in honour of all the warriors out there who are near and dear to my heart.
In this time of uncertainty, Canadians affected by blood cancers face even more challenges.
They need our support now more than ever.
Light The Night celebrates cancer survivors, honours those we’ve lost and gives hope to those facing blood cancer.
The money raised helps fund research and critical programs and services that help support Canadians at every step of their blood cancer experience.
I need your help to make a difference.
Please consider donating what you can.
Your support means everything to me and to those affected by blood cancers.
Thank you <3
