There some people who played a pivotal role in my life, who the world has lost to cancer. One person who was very important to me is my late uncle Horace Gopeesingh.
When I was a working-but-broke student in university in Calgary, he was there every step of the way with charitable donations to me (when my old VW Jetta needed a tune up, when it came time to buy books, sometimes groceries and even at times tuition). Yes, it was a sad state of affairs! I would visit most Sundays to do laundry and have an amazing home-cooked Trini-style meal.
We lost him almost 10 years ago after he battled for 6 months with Rare T-cell Lymphoma.
Anyone who knew him, knows he was larger than life and the life of every party. He was a King of Kings. Please help me make a difference in the lives of Canadians affected by blood cancer.
