This year marks the 6th year that l have been participating in the Light the Night Walk. Due to the Covid pandemic this year's event will once again be virtual. 10 years ago the average life expectancy after diagnosis was 5 to 10 years but because of important research and advancements in treatment of CLL, ,this time frame no longer holds true. With daily medications of targeted therapy l have a good quality if life. I have advanced CLL which is not curable but is treatable. Unfortunately my immune system is still extremely compromised so we have to be extra vigilant not only because of Covid but to any infection. I receive a monthly treatment of IVIG to increase my immune system. Thank goodness for modern science!! As per my oncologist l have this disease at a good time, when so much research has been done and so many new treatments have been developed. We are not there yet and much more research is needed to eradicate this and all cancers. Thanks to all of our family and friends for your continued support so that much needed research can continue!! Please donate if at all possible as any amount will help fund further research into this disease with the hope of one day erraticating this and all blood cancers.
Sonia and l thank you all for your love and support!!
