Dear Family and Friends,
I recently accepted the challenge to raise funds to support The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada’s Light The Night event on October 23, 2021. This year it has become very personal! You never think it will affect your family but it can!
My daughter was a typical 16 year old teenager playing soccer, working a part time job and hanging out with friends. She was so looking forward to the memories and adventures summer 2021 was going to bring. However her world and ours were shook on June 28 when we received the worst news of our lives. She was diagnosed with Hodgkin Lymphoma--Cancer! In a blink of an eye, our lives were turned upside down. After experiencing a rollercoaster of emotions, we weren't going to let the disease win! It took us a few weeks to learn how to cope with this diagnosis however life went on. Many tests and procedures were done and before we knew it, she was at her first chemotherapy treatment. WOW, what a whirlwind! Nonetheless, with the support of our family and friends, she dug deep and emerged as a Warrior Queen determined to defeat this! She has shown us what strength and perseverance is all about.
Light The Night celebrates cancer survivors, honors those we’ve lost and gives hope to those facing a blood cancer. The money raised helps fund research and critical programs and services that help support Canadians at every step of their blood cancer experience.
I need your help to make a difference. Please consider donating what you can to my personal page.
Your support means everything to me and to those affected by blood cancers.
