I'm participating in Light the Night this year in honor and in celebration of my mother, Nancy O’Quinn, fearless blood cancer survivor who now is in remission officially for the SECOND time!
Our family can attest to the great patient care provided by the LLSC and the results from investments in research. In summer of 2023 mom completed treatment for her second time for her Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia and was prescribed a treatment regime which didn’t exist even five years ago! In addition, one of LLSC’s funded researchers in Winnipeg is mom’s oncologist providing mom with the absolute best care. She’s a modern angel and we’re thankful for having the support as a physician and researcher.
Like the past three years, I'm connecting a couple of my passions. Supporting the blood cancer community and grassroots hockey. I’ve founded the Battle for Blood Cancer, 3 on 3 Tournament of Hope in an effort to make a fun hockey experience more accessible in our community and to inspire others to join me in the collective quest to end blood cancers forever.
My goal is to raise $3000 as a part of my participation in this tournament. Please consider a donation of any amount to help me and my team in the quest to end blood cancers forever. Any donation over $25 will receive a tax receipt. Help me, help the blood cancer community by raising a puck or two and in this tournament, we win when cancer loses!
