Steadfast - determined, unwavering, loyal. All words used to describe my mom. My mom was one of the strongest women I have ever known.
Debbie Stead, was diagnosed with T-Cell Large Granular Lymphocytic Leukemia and Severe Chronic Neutropenia in September 2004. Mom never let cancer hold her back. But despite her resilience, mom passed away February of this year after an almost 20 year triumph.
Mom showed us that you can face adversities with strength, by being humble and polite, and having a positive attitude. Her perseverance was admirable. She was always my biggest cheerleader, and I will forever be hers by ensuring her legacy is carried on, and, even in her absence, that she continues to help others.
Light The Night brings communities across Canada together for one magical evening to share stories, remember loved ones lost and pay tribute to our heroes, bringing light, love and hope to dispel the darkness of blood cancers.
The Stead family are taking steps to end blood cancer in memory of Deb. She never stopped fighting, and neither will we.
