Rare blood diseases may be deemed rare... until they become your personal battle.
In September 2019, I received the life-altering diagnosis of Acute Myeloid Leukemia. Without a Bone Marrow Transplant, the joy of spending Christmas 2020 with my beloved son and wife would have been an impossible dream. The journey that unfolded was more grueling than anyone could fathom—not just for me, but for my family and all those who stood by us. Not everyone emerges victorious. I count myself among the fortunate few.
I am profoundly grateful for the groundbreaking scientific and medical research that paved the way for my treatment. Without it, there would be no glimmer of hope. We must continue the fight for those fighting for their lives today, and those yet to be diagnosed, for the promise of hope that every life deserves.
Light The Night unites communities across Canada for one unforgettable evening—a time to share stories, honor the memories of loved ones lost, and pay tribute to our heroes.
I invite you to join me and my family for this meaningful evening and walk with us on October 26th.
