Last year I had the honour of serving as The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada’s Light The Night Campaign co-chair in Toronto, making me the youngest person to hold this position in the 67-year history of the LLSC.
Once again this year, we are doing what we can to support the LLSC and their Light The Night campaign again this year.
This year LLSC is funding more than 41 NEW grants thanks to a record-breaking investment of over $5M to researchers across Canada. I am pleased to share that $1M of these funds are directed towards pediatric blood cancer research. Why does this matter? In our lifetime we are making life altering progress in treatment and cures. To give you an example, in the last 50 year’s survival for the most common childhood cancer, Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia has come from 20% survival to over 90% survival. If we have come this far in the last 50 years then in our lifetime we believe we can cure childhood blood cancers.
I believe that 100% survival is within reach and possible in my lifetime. Join us in the pursuit of this goal by making a secure donation.
