Dear Friends and Family,
I am helping to raise funds to support the blood cancer community that is near and dear to my heart. Blood cancers are a common cancer that affects generally younger age groups. Every 24 minutes, someone in Canada is diagnosed with a blood cancer.
As many of you know, I was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma in 1997. With the help of my wife, family, doctors and Sunnybrook hospital (Odette Cancer Centre), after two years of treatments, being part of a clinical trial that provided a cure where other treatments failed, I am now celebrating 25 years cancer free. Part of the clinical trial involved a new Antibody treatment (Rituxamab) at that time that is now saving many lives and has seen improved rates of success in the treatment of Non-Hodgkings Lymphoma and blood cancers.
Light The Night unites the blood cancer community, honouring those we’ve lost and giving hope to all facing a blood cancer. The money raised during Light The Night helps fund research and critical programs and services that help support Canadians at every step of their blood cancer experience.
Please consider donating what you can to my page as well as sharing my goal with your friends and family
Your support means everything to me and to those affected by blood cancers; together we can walk towards a future without blood cancers.
Thank you!Michael
