Light The Night brings communities across Canada together for one magical evening to share stories, remember loved ones lost and pay tribute to our heroes, bringing light, love and hope to dispel the darkness of blood cancers.
Hey! My name is Shae-Lynn Way and I am the team leader of my Light the Night team, Light the Way. I am excited to participate in my 3rd Light the Night with my family, friends, supporters, fellow survivors, fighters and all those who have been affected by blood cancer.
I was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia when I was only 21 years old, in March 2020, just at the peak of Covid-19. I have undergone various treatments, chemotherapy, radiation and biopsies. I have also overcome 2 stem cell transplants and a CAR-T Transplant as well as 2 different relapses since my diagnosis. I have been so fortunate to have an amazing support system from my family, friends and community. I have also made some amazing friendships through my treatments with fellow survivors, fighters and nursing staff. I have also lost many close friends to this terrible disease and want to acknowledge them and walk in their honour
