I am Rose Ann. I am working at a hospital Cafeteria and Cooking is my passion that is why I enjoyed working there for 17 years. Meeting and talking almost everyday with the same people made me feel like I have a family outside my home, until my journey started towards the end of 2023.
Couple of weeks seeing bruises on my legs and feeling very tired and weak after a day's work which I thought there's nothing to worry about. Until the night of Jan 19, I woke up with a bleeding gums and eventually stopped within a couple of minutes. The next morning I noticed that my bruises are getting bigger and darker, Immediately I messaged my doctor to call me and she called me back and told me to have a blood test. The following morning she called me and told me that the results are in and I need to go to the hospital right away. On my way to the hospital, i was so scared and anxious of the inevitable unknown. After a few more tests and a bone marrow aspiration, the Doctors told me that I have a blood cancer. My life just stopped in that moment and couldn't believe that I have to face the biggest challenge of my life.
The feeling of Fear thinking that I might not be able to see my son graduates from University and reach his dreams and my nephew whom I love like my own, that I might not be able to help him and his wife raise their kids whom I adore and dearly love. Not be able to play or take them to the park, not be able to celebrate holidays and their milestones, that thought broke my heart because they are my favorite people and my everything.
I prayed so hard and my faith made me realized I have to fight and get through this battle. I was comforted when my doctor told me that there is a high rate of success with chemotherapy to the type of Leukemia I have.
I'm on the last phase of my consolidation. I am thankful and grateful to all the Doctors and nurses for their care and compassion. To my family and friends for their support and strangers telling me that they're praying for me.Praying and Hoping for a positive bone marrow result of healthy cells instead of cancer cells. I know that God is bigger than my sickness and He will heal me.
I am taking the first step and showing my support. With Humility,I would like to ask each one of you if you can help me support my fundraising for a cure for blood cancer.
Thank you and God bless us all.
