By day I am a young professional working in People & Culture for Broccolini, I am very blessed and grateful to be working for such a reputable and caring company.
I absolutely love my job! I get to meet new people regularly, cultivate a nurturing culture and build strong, meaningful relationships with executive members to help build our people. It comes easy for me to work at Broccolini because they lead with heart, just as I do. In my personal life, I enjoy travel, food, fashion & wine! I love spending time with by husband, family & friends. They are my life and I am grateful to have such a wonderful group of people around me. I do have a personal attachment to this cause, my father has battled Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma twice in his lifetime now. I’m proud to say that he beat it both times, but certainly not without a fight. The first time he was diagnosed was 15 years ago, when he was 42 years old – he went into remission for 13 years. Life breezed by, we enjoyed every moment and built beautiful memories.
In March 2019, after what seemed like a regular check-up, his doctor announced his cancer had relapsed. My father had another fight in front of him, we could not believe it, shock waved through all of us. He went through an aggressive chemotherapy treatment and successfully completed a stem cell transplant. Today we can say that he is in remission, he won the battle again! He is back to his old-self, my family and I could not be happier and more grateful that we got through such a difficult time together.
Since I was young I have always been an honest, empathetic and passionate person, always fighting for what I believe in. By contributing to this cause, it allows me to feel that I am making a difference for my family and for other families who have had similar experiences. What an honor it is to be nominated for this cause.
What a serendipitous way the universe has shown me how to take my fear and transform it into hope! Please join me in making a difference!
