I am a very passionate fundraiser and I consider myself fortunate in being able to give back! In the last 3 years, I lost a dear friend and a close family member both to Leukemia.
I tribute this campaign to Michael Petrella lost at the young age of 20 and Mike Parisi lost at the age of 56 and all others near and far that have unfortunately succumbed to blood cancer.
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada has launched its annual Man & Woman of the Year philanthropic competition to help support Canadians affected by blood cancers.
The work the LLSC has done over the years, is incredible but they would not be able to do it without the support of the community.
We have the privilege to give back and support those who we’ve lost and those still battling, so this year, when I was nominated for Man of the Year, I accepted the challenge without hesitation. My goal, which will be subject to continuous change, is to raise as much as my donors are willing to contribute.
Please join me in this tribute to 2 very special people. Remember, if I win “Man of the Year”, it only means WE WON and that we as a community are getting one step closer to better personalized treatments, more help to support those newly diagnosed, people in treatment and those navigating life after a blood cancer.
I truly appreciate and thank you for your contributions. Without your generosity, life-enhancing research to find a cure could not be possible.
Remember that we are always stronger when united!!
