Please join me in supporting The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada (LLSC) by making a donation to my fundraising campaign for Man & Woman of the Year (MWOY).
Did you know that there are actually 137 types of blood cancers and related disorders? Many people do not know what a blood cancer is, even though it is the fourth most-commonly diagnosed cancer type in Canada affecting anyone from children to adults. High-mortality rates, ineffective treatments and poor quality of life for those who survive for certain types of blood cancers make these diseases a pressing health issue in Canada.
I was nominated this year to take part in the MWOY challenge by 2 members of the LLSC team, Marc Normandeau & Catalina Jimenez, who I greatly respect for their everyday inspiration, providing much needed services to blood cancer patients, as well as furthering the research needed for emerging therapies & stem cell transplants. Professionally, I have been working in the pharmaceutical industry for over twenty years, making life, my life's work. I am also a sister, daughter, wife, friend and parent looking to help end cancer and improve the quality of life of patients and their families, right now and for the future.
Our team is working to raise as much as possible over the 10 weeks starting March 25th, 2021. Every dollar we raise counts as one vote for my team's candidate. The candidate whose team tallies the most votes earns the prestigious title of "Man or Woman of the Year".
All donations are greatly appreciated and tax deductible. They'll not only support LLSC research, but patient services, advocacy, public and professional education, and community services as well. On behalf of blood cancer patients everywhere, thank you for your support!
Let's move the needle & put an end to blood cancers together,
