All my life I wanted to dedicate my life to helping others, and I always thought that the only way to do so was through the medical field. However, I found my calling when I could mesh my passion for cosmetics and science together. With a master’s certificate in Cosmetic Chemistry and my 5 years’ experience in the industry, it allowed me to fill my current position at Essential Ingredients as their Sales Account Manager for Eastern Canada. I still get to help people by assisting my customers in achieving their formulation goals. The best part of all is the amazing team I get to be a part of at Essential Ingredients. Our moto and the phrase that embodies our culture at Essential Ingredients is “to be a blessing to others and inspire them to be a blessing as well”.
The opportunity to be a part of the MWOY campaign fell into my lap, when my oldest friend nominated me, and it has never made more sense for me to take on this challenge. Though I have not personally had a direct connection to the leukemia or lymphoma disease, it has affected many of my loved ones in one way or another. People may ask why I even decided to be a part of this campaign because of this. What I have to say to those people is, I’m here to set an example, that you do not need to have an affiliation with a certain disease to make a difference. You just need to be brave enough to take the opportunity when it arises. Often, we disassociate ourselves from such diseases because we don’t experience the struggle firsthand. My goal during this campaign is to bring the children and adults fighting Leukemia and Lymphoma into the light where everyone can see their strength.
And so, I remember my dream of helping those in need and with this campaign I would be able to help support not only a great foundation but remember those that have been lost and to give hope to those still fighting.
