A Visionary: someone with the confidence to amplify their voice to speak for those unheard.
My journey with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada began in 2016, when members of the LLSC Atlantic office presented the opportunity to help fundraise while training for the Bluenose at my place of work. I had wanted to run a marathon for some time. I also truly enjoy fundraising and helping those in need in my community; so this opportunity simply made sense! I started out without a connection to blood cancers in any way shape or form, but over the years of training and fundraising, I have made new friends who would not be here today were it not for the amazing work done by the LLSC and the doctors and scientists whose research receives necessary funding in order to save lives. I have had family members diagnosed with other forms of cancers, but whose treatment protocols would not exist were it not for the life saving research done to help find a cure for all blood cancers.
Together we can make blood cancer a thing of the past!
I am honoured to be part of this team of driven individuals as we strive to support the blood cancer community. Join me in supporting The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada (LLSC) by donating to my fundraising team and campaign for Visionary of the Year.
Starting in March, our team will embark on an intense 10-week fundraising competition between philanthropic leaders in communities across Canada. Funds raised help propel critical research, provide services, and advance advocacy efforts for people with blood cancer and their families.
Each dollar raised from March to May equals one vote for our team. The candidate who, alongside their team, raises the most funds will win the prestigious titles of “Visionary of the Year”. Last year’s winners raised more than $100,000 each!
Aside from donating, you can help in other ways like spreading the word! Share my candidate page link with friends, family and colleagues who would also like to help end blood cancers and support the blood cancer community. Donating is fast, easy, and yes, tax deductible.
Thank you for supporting the blood cancer community during Visionaries of the Year!
