My participation with the Visionaries of the Year campaign is thanks to Stephanie Flynn. Stephanie has been a big part of our family for years helping grow my aunt and uncles real estate brokerages here in Halifax. She has been a great part in helping with my fundraising campaigns in the past and I was very honoured when she nominated me to be a Visionary for the 2024 campaign.
With this being the busiest time of the year for our company, I didn’t shy away to think we have no time to take this on. Rather I thought about the positives and how many great clients and colleagues could get behind us during these times to support a great cause. It’s great to be a part of such an amazing organization and help raise funds with other amazing people contributing to the campaign.
In the past the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society has been a cause my friends and colleagues raised funds for through fun networking events, food, drink, and game nights. With that, there is a connection I have to the cause with friends having been affected by blood cancer. I have always felt a place in my heart for the work done through LLSC and I am very excited to support the cause through VoY.
These 10 weeks for me is about pushing myself, colleagues, friends, and clients to help support a cause that requires so much research, money, and overall contribution. I am hoping to reach our financial goal of $40,000 through generous donations made from myself and connections alike. I am most looking forward to meeting new friends, creating amazing connections, and ultimately reaching the overall goal set out by this campaign.
