Taking a Stand—So No One Stands Alone
United By Vision Driven By Impact
Cancer is a terrifying word. Blood cancer is relentless—it doesn’t discriminate, it doesn’t wait, and it turns lives upside down in an instant. But together, we can make it less scary. We can bring awareness, provide support, and ensure that no one fights alone. That’s why I’ve taken on the challenge of Visionaries of the Year—to bring people together in a way that truly makes a difference.
Bringing people together is what I do best. Whether it’s through my work, my personal life, or the causes I support, I’ve always believed in the power of community. So in many ways, stepping into this campaign felt like a natural fit.
But this campaign also pushes me outside of my comfort zone. In my personal life, I tend to be more of a behind-the-scenes person. I’m the one who quietly supports the efforts of others, working to help their voices and passions be heard. But this time, the focus is on me—and more importantly, on my message and my journey. Fundraising on this scale, sharing my story in such a personal way, and rallying people behind such an important cause—it’s all new territory for me.
And that’s exactly why I’m here. Because blood cancers like leukemia and lymphoma don’t fit neatly into a comfortable box. They’re unpredictable, they’re heartbreaking, and they require bold action. But that’s exactly why I’m here. Because fighting blood cancers is uncomfortable. It’s unpredictable. And if stepping outside my comfort zone means making a real impact for those facing this disease, then I’ll do it without hesitation. This campaign is about fighting—about standing up for those who need it most.
My grandfather was diagnosed with blood cancer, and I saw firsthand how overwhelming and terrifying that journey was—for him and for our entire family. The waiting, the treatments, the uncertainty—it’s something no one can truly prepare for. But we also saw hope. Today, he is in remission and I have organizations like this to thank.
That hope is what drives me. Not everyone gets the outcome my grandfather did, and that’s why I’m here—to make sure more families get the chance to celebrate remission, to have more time, and to experience more life with the people they love.
With my team by my side, I want to create a campaign that is not only impactful but also deeply personal. We’re focusing on wellness—because fighting blood cancer isn’t just about treatment, it’s about the entire journey. It’s about supporting the mental, emotional, and physical well-being of those affected.
We want to raise significant funds, yes—but just as importantly, we want to start conversations. We want to encourage people to check in on their health, support those around them, and make wellness a priority in every aspect of life. Research and advancements in treatment are giving people with blood cancer more hope than ever before. But we’re not done yet.
I was nominated by Sarah Dunham from Studio Twenty Two Wellness Club in Windsor, and that meant the world to me. Sarah is someone I admire deeply—she’s an incredible leader, a wellness advocate, and a person who truly lifts others up. Having her recognize me in this way was both humbling and motivating. It reassured me that I have something valuable to bring to this fight, and I’m honored to take on the challenge.
I dedicate this campaign to my grandfather and all those who have faced blood cancer head-on, whether as fighters, survivors, or loved ones standing by their side. These diseases don’t just impact individuals—they affect entire families and communities. No one should have to battle alone.
Through this campaign, I want to honor those who have fought, those who are fighting, and those we’ve lost. I want to ensure that future patients have better treatment options, more support, and ultimately, more survivors.
