In June 2020, when the pandemic was still relatively new to all of us, my 19 year old son had to go to the hospital by himself for the first time in his life. He was told that day that he had a very large mass in his chest that they believed to be cancer. Twelve days later, we learned that it was Primary Mediastinal Large B-Cell Lymphoma.
The journey to remission was a difficult one, for him, and for me as his caregiver. I often say that my son is doing well, but I’m still recovering from him having cancer.
That is why I want to help. I want to help other parents and caregivers who are facing the scariest times of their lives. I want to help other patients get the best care they can get, backed by the most advanced treatments.
I’m honoured to be a part of Team Tia. If you are able, please donate to our team. If you would like to support in a different way, check out StrongerNS.com, where 50% of your purchase will be donated to our campaign.

A Visionary: someone with the confidence to amplify their voice to speak for those unheard.
Each candidate for Visionaries of the Year is an innovator in their field; I am honoured to be part of this team of driven individuals as we strive to support the blood cancer community. Join me in supporting The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada (LLSC) by donating to my fundraising team and campaign for Visionary of the Year.
Starting in March, our team will embark on an intense 10-week fundraising competition between philanthropic leaders in communities across Canada. Funds raised help propel critical research, provide services, and advance advocacy efforts for people with blood cancer and their families.
Each dollar raised from March to May equals one vote for our team. The candidate who, alongside their team, raises the most funds will win the prestigious titles of “Visionary of the Year”. Last year’s winners raised more than $100,000 each!
Aside from donating, you can help in other ways like spreading the word! Share my candidate page link with friends, family and colleagues who would also like to help end blood cancers and support the blood cancer community. Donating is fast, easy, and yes, tax deductible.
Thank you for supporting the blood cancer community during Visionaries of the Year!
