My name is Neal Andreino, and I am honoured to be a part of this year's Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s 2025 Visionary of the Year Campaign. I was first nominated for VOY by Nas Klayme in 2023 but was unable to participate. For 2025, I was nominated by Ryan Smith of Cooke Insurance and I knew I could not pass up this opportunity to do my part.
This year was different, as not only did I have the capacity to be a part of the VOY campaign, but I also had a more personal connection. In 2024, I lost my father to blood disease complications that developed over his last years. This experience amplified my understanding of what pain an individual goes through, as their entire world as they know it, is put into question. As a family member, the hopeless feeling inspired me to want to take action immediately and give back in any way that I can.
With the help of my amazing co-lead, Erin Moraal, and the rest of our team and supporters we are making it our mission to raise funds to go towards the research of curing 100’s of blood cancers and diseases that remain relevant today. Our campaign is focused on living our best lives while raising awareness.
For those of you who are reading this and are on the fence about supporting, please take the time to take into consideration the impact these cancers can have on a family, the lives of everyone around them and the people experiencing the pain. We tend to take our time for granted, but as we all know our health is not always guaranteed. This small campaign may not cure blood cancer or save a life at this current moment, but it represents that mission. If you are unable to contribute, please consider joining us at some of our fun events that we have planned in the coming months.
We want to thank you for getting involved and hope that together we can work together to reduce the impact blood cancers have on all of us.
