I'm excited to share that I've joined forces with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada as a Candidate in their Visionaries of the Year campaign! This partnership holds special significance for me, as a survivor of AML Leukemia, because the LLSC's mission to aid those affected by blood cancer deeply resonates with my journey.
My battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia began in January 2021, amidst the challenges of the COVID pandemic. Enduring six months of rigorous chemotherapy treatments led to a period of remission, spanning nearly two years. However, in December 2022, the cancer returned with a vengeance. Its resurgence was more formidable than anticipated, necessitating three additional rounds of intense chemotherapy before undergoing a life saving stem cell transplant in March 2023.
It has not been an easy road and there is still very much happening within my journey, however as I reflect on my recovery, I'm determined to give back to the community that supported me. Beyond financial contributions, there are various ways you can join our cause. You can spread awareness by sharing our message or participating in the engaging events our team is organizing in Vancouver. Additionally, if you're eligible, donating blood or plasma and registering with the "Be The Match" registry are invaluable acts of support.
Thank you for standing with us in solidarity with the blood cancer community and for helping make a difference in the lives of those who are affected by blood cancer!
