Thank you for visiting my campaign page.
I'm doing this campaign to spread the good that happens when we choose to connect, support and give. Our team has created a fundraising marketplace just for this occasion.
The idea is simple: many of us belong to communities that already know how to show up. We share advice, make introductions, offer time, talent, and help each other through uncertainty. This campaign takes that same instinct and turns it toward families facing blood cancer.
Everyone has something to offer that another needs or has wished for. Contribute a perk or browse our marketplace at https://connectiongives.com - help us spread the good!
Founding Story
In 2008, my grandmother was diagnosed with cancer. She was 78 years old, and like many families facing a diagnosis, we were scared. What I remember most from that time isn’t just the treatment—it’s how our family pulled together around her. There was always someone to accompany her to appointments, to ask questions, to translate medical information into something understandable, to offer encouragement when things felt heavy.
We were fortunate in ways that aren’t guaranteed. We had access to good care. We had people in our family who worked in the medical field and knew how to navigate the system. And we had a strong support network that showed up, consistently, when it mattered most.
Today, my grandmother is 98 years old. The remission of her lymphoma meant that she got to become a great grandmother to five great-grand kids. We’re incredibly grateful to have her with us.
But over the years, I’ve come to understand how much of her story depended on connection—connection to care, to knowledge, and to people who didn’t let her face cancer alone. I also know that this level of support isn’t the norm. Many individuals and families facing blood cancer experience isolation, confusion, and gaps in care at the very moment they need clarity and advocacy the most.
That contrast has stayed with me.
I’ve spent much of my life in communities—tech, startups, parent networks—where people show up for one another. We share advice. We make introductions. We help each other navigate hard problems. I’ve benefited from that support, and I’ve tried to offer it in return. This campaign is an extension of that same instinct: to take the strength of our communities and direct it where it can make a tangible difference.
That’s why I’m leading a fundraising campaign for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada.
