When I received the nomination to participate in this competition, I recognized it as an invaluable opportunity that I couldn't let slip away. I am involved in this campaign because, as a leukemia survivor diagnosed in 2021, I have personally faced the daunting challenges of this disease and witnessed the transformative impact of the treatments that aided my recovery.
My journey included a year of rigorous treatments, culminating in a Stem Cell Transplant. Initially, it was a groundbreaking immunotherapy, approved just four years prior, that brought me into remission. This treatment emerged from extensive research in blood cancer therapies, highlighting the importance of continued funding.
The funds raised through this campaign are crucial for advancing such research and developing innovative treatments that can offer hope to others enduring similar struggles. Additionally, the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society has provided me with invaluable support throughout my journey.
