Life is for Living
After being diagnosed with follicular Lymphoma on July 26th, 2023 I am very honoured to be taking part in the Visionaries of the Year for the LLSC. This philanthropic competition that helps support Canadians with blood cancer is a challenge that I am extremely excited to take on. As a yoga teacher and coach there is nothing I value more than connection - and this opportunity will allow me to connect with those who want to help as well as those going through what I'm going through so that no one feels alone.
A twist in my personal story is that two months after I was diagnosed my father was diagnosed with follicular Lymphoma as well. So not only am I in the position of 'cancer patient' but 'cancer caregiver' as well. Two roles that I am still getting a grasp on.
There is a lot of uncertainty in our diagnoses, and because of that I intentionally choose to live every day to its fullest. Making the most out of every moment, every conversation, every relationship. Which is why I am so eager to help bring awareness and change to the world of blood cancers.
