My journey with the LLSC began 10 years ago, when a friend lost her father to leukemia, and we later participated together in the Light the Night walk. I’ve since participated in many events organized through the LLSC and I’m forever thankful that I, nor my immediate family members, have not been directly affected by any form of cancer. However, I’ve realized that many of my extended family members and friends have been affected, and so, I’m participating in the Visionaries of the Year fundraising campaign in honour of them.
I’m joined by family and friends to form a team dedicated to raising $100,000 during this 10-week campaign with the hope of putting an end to the disease and its related hardships. Since blood cancer research is the foundation for finding a cure for cancer, our efforts will be towards funding research grants. By attaining our goal, we’ll have funded one grant for a 2-year period.
There are many ways you can support our mission. We have organized a variety of community events, where you can get together with loved ones and have a great time. We’ve also partnered with retail establishments, where you can grab your favourite meal and support our local economy. All while supporting our cause.
Please stay tuned to our social media pages for further details regarding these events. You may also make a personal contribution, right here, on our website. On behalf of the LLSC and my team, I thank you in advance for your support in helping our world move one step closer to finding a cure for blood cancers. Have a great day and we hope to see you around!
