The Remission Mission
Team Remission Mission is walking in support of a mother, daughter, sister, friend, and colleague.
In March of this year, Tonya had a spinal MRI for a back condition. When reading the results the radiologist spotted a mass in her abdomen and recommended an urgent CT. The next day she had a CT followed by a biopsy and in late May, a diagnosis of Stage IV Diffuse Large B Cell Lymphoma - an aggressive form of Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, a blood cancer that attacks the body’s B cells.
She started chemo on June 13th and is now 4 rounds into a 6 round protocol. So far her response has been good and she hopes to be in remission by the time the event takes place on October 18th. Our team, The Remission Mission is comprised of friends and family who have supported her throughout this journey.
