We all have different reasons for wanting to raise money and awareness for various causes. In my case, two very special people in my life have been touched closely by blood cancers. My oldest friend and I were born on the same day, in the same hospital in neighboring rooms. When someone is meant to be in your life, the universe makes it happen. Her daughter is a Leukemia survivor. Another friend of mine, Ron, was also touched by Leukemia. He unfortunately lost his daughter after a brave journey. Both girls are the reason why I am participating in Light The Night. They are my motivation and inspiration to help find a cure for all blood cancers. So no parent has to ever hear “Your child has a blood cancer”, so no parents have to ever watch their child go through difficult treatments.

I am pledging to cut off all my dreadlocks if I reach my goal.
