Everything good starts with an ask.
In a recent conversation with my dad, he shared that the number one reason he believes anyone volunteers is because they were asked. Simply asking creates positivity, being called upon to help others is an opportunity to step up to the plate.
So when I was nominated to participate in Visionaries of the Year, the answer was easy. I would say yes because I was asked. I’ve been lucky in life and haven’t had lots of opportunities to give back, so this seemed like the perfect time.
Joining this competition is an opportunity for me to lean into creative strategies in a new way. Being able to engage my community in a fun and innovative campaign, will mean a lot to me because I believe in the cause.
This is why I have committed to raising $100,000 in just 10 weeks.
As a firm believer in innovation, I am most inspired by the research the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada does. Being able to complete blood cancer research at the cellular level has resulted in treatment advances for all cancers. Chemotherapy is just one result of blood cancer research. The critical work we are doing will have a widespread impact.
And so, I will leave you with an ask.
Will you join me in forging ahead, and creating a brighter future for cancer?
